Once upon a time, there was pizza. And a pandemic.

On one fateful day in 2020, a group of friends were huddled around a table laden with thin-crust margarita pizzas.

Under the shadow of the ever-present pandemic, they sought comfort with the familiar golden ratio of tomato, cheese, and dough. As they collectively yearned for the day they would no longer have to wear masks or swab their throats, they began to dream. 

What would they do post-pandemic? Flee? Travel? Go home?

Most would. But one would not.

As each friend took their last bite and dusted crumbs off their fingers, one friend quietly revealed an idea she’d be mulling over for quite some time.

“I’m thinking of opening a creative agency in Shanghai.”

Opening a business during a global pandemic was objectively a bad idea. Illogical. Risky. Mad.

But she did it anyway.

And so on July 2020, Bright Design Studio was born

And 14 awards later, we’re still here.

  • Elaine Chew

    FOUNDER/BRAND DIRECTOR

    Graduate of Harvard Business School in Global Business + Strategy. She graduated from Northumbria University, UK in BA Hons Graphic Design majoring in Image-making, and visual communication through infographic, illustration, and social media marketing via design. Served agencies in UK, Singapore, and Shanghai for F+B/Hospitatlity/Events such as Warners Bros., Disney, Boston Scientific, IHG Hotels, EMW Winery, and others.

    Elaine is fluent in English, Chinese, Bahasa, some Cantonese and currently learning Spanish and Polish. She is Chinese-Portuguese Malaysian, from Brunei.

    Graduated from BA Business Administration + Management in and Marketing in Denmark. David is an expert with marketing, management, and public relations. In the past 5 years, David has helped with developing, managing digital marketing campaigns and promoting to uplift your brand further. He has served political/business leaders for their brand and marketing campaigns. 

    David is fluent in English, Russian, Slovak, Czech, and Polish. He is from Slovenia.
